THUNDER AT THE GLENMAGGIE WIER (PROMO)

The Glenmaggie and District Boat club are proud to announce powerboat racing on Monday January 2nd 2006.The GDBC are kicking off the clubs 51st year in racing with 3 classes of Australian Championship Racing.

The Hayes Wood Trophy is an all comers race which will see the big GP Hydroplanes take on the Blown Alcohol Displacements for this Championship trophy. The Mary & Ernie Nunn Trophy, this will be round 1 of the GP Hydroplane series for these thumping monsters.

The Col Brown Trophy, this is the Australian Championship for the 1.6Ltr Hydroplanes, this meeting will be round 2 for this class with the classes only female driver leading the championship. There will be racing for all classes on the day so there will be a great range of boat and engine combinations with engines ranging from 1.6Ltr twin-cam Toyota’s, 4.2Ltr Holden’s up to the supercharged or turbo’d big blocks making up to 1500 Hp.

The club will have full onsite canteen and BBQ plus an alcohol booth. There will be an entry admission fee. The Pit area will be fenced off to the public, this is an insurance issue and we ask that spectators refrain from entering this area until directed by the race committee.

Racing will be starting at 10.00 am and going through till the middle of the afternoon, so bring you chair and some friends and make your way to Lake Glenmaggie via Heyfield for the first boat race meeting of 2006.
